Site Superintendent- Squamish, BC

Client:

Our client is a general contractor in Vancouver. Their portfolio consists of numerous residential, commercial and institutional projects that range up to $45 million. They are looking to hire a Site Superintendent to expand their team.

The Role:

The Site Superintendent plays an essential role in our client’s high profile projects. The candidate hired for this role would be accountable for all on-site construction activities on a daily basis for a 6-Storey wood frame project. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate would be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

  • reviewing project schedules and ensuring project are executed effectively and completed on time and within budget;
  • ensuring project materials and workmanship meet Quality Standards;
  • assisting in the formulation of construction plans and preparing short term activity schedules;
  • providing solutions to management issues and preventing potential schedule conflictions;
  • monitoring work performance and efficiency of subcontractors and employees;
  • managing onsite budgets for labour and material –move; and
  • following WCB safety regulations and health and safety procedures.

Applicants for this role must have the following:

  • a minimum of 10 years of work experience in commercial, institutional and residential projects;
  • proven leadership skills and the ability to assume responsibility;
  • a working knowledge in quality control, cost control, scheduling and all other project management disciplines;
  • a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills; and
  • an ability to handle a heavy workload, multitask and prioritize.
