Construction Superintendent– Single-family

Your Opportunity

Design Group has an exciting, opportunity for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead ground up single-family construction projects throughout the lower mainland. Our client is an established and well respected developer with over 25 years in the Vancouver market. Due to additional projects beginning in early 2017 they have available an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Superintendent to play a key role in an upcoming community developments. The upcoming profile will consist of 40+homes. Our client offers a competitive compensation plan consisting of a salary, benefit plan and performance incentives.

Your Challenge

As the chosen Construction Superintendent you will work in collaboration with the Senior Project Manager and report directly to President of the company. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to take a leading role in the “hands on” management of multifamily construction projects. The primary responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Selecting, supervising and mentoring field site personnel.
  • Organizing and coordinating all subcontractor activities as well as on-site co-ordination of manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Utilizing technology such as iPad based scheduling to develop, monitor, and execute project construction plan and schedule
  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and train field personnel.
  • Monitor cost control, job costing, quantity reporting, forecasting, and productivity.
  • Plan and implement site logistics, productivity innovations, & construction methods.
  • Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts
  • Ensure the implementation of Safety Programs to create a safe work environment throughout the jobsite and adhere to the safety and record keeping requirements
  • Work with trades, schedules, site instructions, and RFI’s
  • Responsible for final inspections, deficiencies, warranty work, site demobilization and project close-out.

Your Background 

The individual we are seeking for this opportunity should possess a minimum of ten years’ experience supervising large scale wood frame single or multi-family builds, and a proven history of keeping projects on time and on budget. Skill profile should include in depth knowledge of building trades, superior communication and motivational skills and an ability to monitor and drive project progress.
