Job Description

Design Group is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Service Technician for our client in the Mississauga area.  Our client is a total solutions provider focused on the tool and equipment rental market. They are currently looking for a motivated individual to join the team as a Road Service Technician in their Heating Division.  This candidate needs to be a Gas Fitter with a minimum 3 years’ service experience and strong mechanical aptitude with good general electrical knowledge. The Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing and diagnosing of electrical, propane and natural gas heaters for repair and/or regular maintenance both onsite and in the shop.

  • Training to earn certificate in repairing Oil fired construction heater

  • Minimum G2 with 3 years’ repair service experience (G1 preferred)
  • ODP and 313 considered an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, general electrical understanding.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license with current clean abstract.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Results-oriented, achieving high levels of individual and team performance.
  • Role requires daily lifting and movement of heaters weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Main Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair natural gas, propane, oil and electric heaters on various job sites and warehouse
  • Operate and test equipment.
  • Maintain all service and repair records for serviced products
  • Adhere to all Company safety standards.
