Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager based in central Toronto for a major contractor specializing in ICI projects from inception through to completion. The company is a medium sized contractor with a long standing reputation for quality and is looking to bolster its award winning team by adding a Senior Project Manager to their ranks.

Acting as a General Contractor this company offer an all-encompassing service within Design & Build as well as traditional novated contracts and act as the Construction / Project Manager for the job. They are looking for someone to come from a similar type of company and have such experience, D&B would certainly be considered favourable.

As a Snr PM you will report directly to the Directors and have full autonomy over projects typically ranging from $30 - $50M in the Ottawa area. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Chairing Design meetings and manage plans and specifications
  • Liaising with local statutory authorities and the client / clients representative
  • Ensuring all work is carried out to specification and quality standards
  • Appointing Sub-Contractors
  • Planning & Scheduling
  • Approving design changes and managing notices for change
  • Approving payments to Sub-Contractor and service providers and approving purchase orders
  • Resolution of any potential issues and disputes
  • Ordering Labour, Plant & Materials as required
  • Managing Safety and Risk on the project and preparation of the prevention program
  • Record keeping for all technical information and Quality Assurance procedures

The compensation for this position will be between $110k plus a very attractive bonus plan, 2 weeks’ vacation, Group RRSP, Health benefits and a commitment to continue training and developing the individual to further their desired career path.

This position requires the Senior Project Manager with a proven track record, to be degree qualified in a suitable construction field and have at least 10 years relevant experience working in the Toronto area. You must have excellent communication skills and a desire to succeed by producing a quality project, on time and within budget.
