Senior Construction Manager - Residential

Our client is a long-established BC development company with a 30 year history of successfully delivering projects throughout BC. The Opportunity:

In a rapidly expanding construction program, our client seeks an experience individual to join their team as Senior Construction Manager. This is an opportunity to join a cohesive team in a senior capacity and to help drive the success of the company’s expansive multi-family residential program. Reporting to our client’s Vice President of Construction, the individual selected for this role will be responsible for managing large multi-family wood-frame projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and all other parties involved in the construction process;
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on project progress with other members of the team on a regular basis;
  • Ensuring that projects are meeting deadlines and are on budget;
  • Create and manage project budgets and schedules in collaboration with the construction department;
  • Overseeing the delivery of our client’s Warranty program and ensuring positive relations are maintained with home buyers throughout the construction and warranty period;
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with all company departments;
  • Mentoring junior staff and providing technical guidance to them;
  • Coordinating all upfront site profile work with consultants (such as geotechnical and environmental investigations, crane swing/encroachment) and securing on- and off-site approvals required;
  • Acting as the interface between the corporate office and the site operations, facilitating communication between these two teams
  • Participating in discussions about the acquisition of potential new project sites

The Candidate:

Applicants for this role must be experienced construction professionals with 10 or more years of experience and a sound understanding of the multi-family and mixed-use woodframe or concrete construction. Candidates must also be sound project managers, capable of planning, managing and delivery project on time and on budget. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a proven history of producing work of excellent quality and of maintaining a service-oriented approach to home purchasers.
