Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for a Reliability Engineer/Technologist for our large construction equipment manufacturing client in northern Alberta.

 POSITION OBJECTIVE:

  • The Reliability Engineer/Technologist provides planning support and information on component life/condition to the service and reliability departments. This position will include frequent field visits to mining machinery and report compiling for tracking and condition of components, service planning, reliability, warranty, safety and other reporting requirements.

 TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Field visits to machinery to check condition of components and identify maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare reports based on component condition and track component lives / trends.
  • Scheduling of maintenance activities on various types of mining machinery and insure availability of parts.
  • Collect and distribute as appropriate, all maintenance information and bulletins from the manufacturer.
  • Data entry into equipment service management system.
  • Track any deviation or discrepancy between components change information. i.e. early change out information.
  • Tracking of machinery operating hours/usage.
  • Review customer work log information for mining equipment.
  • Provide technical support to the service department by liaison with the equipment factories.
  • Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process as it applies to mining machinery.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Mechanical Engineer or Technologist Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with Heavy equipment
  • Experience in similar reliability/service planning work

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Proactive
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Methodical, analytical and organized
  • MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of reliability theory (Reliability Centered Maintenance - RCM)
