Job Description

Our automotive client in Windsor is hiring a contract Quality Engineer. This person will be responsible for assuring effective product testing, calibration, preparing quality documents, and assisting the Quality Manager with overall quality assurance procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Review, prepare, and submit PPAP packages in accordance with AIAG PPAP and customer specifications
• Create FMEAs, Process Control Plans, and perform inspections in an effort to reduce defects
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to respond to customer complaints
• Train technicians and production associates on new quality procedures/ processes as well as other aspects of quality
• Conduct supplier and internal audits, creating audits finding reports and assist in determining proper corrective and preventive action steps
• Design, control, and maintain gage program and measurement systems
• Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence
• Determine operational and performance criteria; write and update quality assurance procedures
• Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data (failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3 years in manufacturing is preferred
• Experience in Automotive industry (PFMEA, Control Plan, APQP process) required
• Demonstrated experience with ISO/TS, creating and submitting PPAP documents and information to customers
• Experience with CMM inspection and programming equipment
• Ability to read and understand part drawings
• Excellent computer skills (Windows, Office, Visio, Project Manager)
• Knowledge of (GD&T) basic math, metric system, basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry; SPC and problem solving ability
