The Role

This is a front facing position requiring a diverse and dynamic individual who can manage ever changing priorities and stakeholder relationships. Primarily responsible for managing all aspects of project scope, schedule and budget for the construction process on a diverse profile of restaurant projects throughout the region. The project manager may oversee several projects at any given time that have varying durations and varying scope. Primarily, the chosen Project Manager will successfully oversee and execute all facets of client’s projects, including; project management strategies, estimating, construction schedule, project budget and cost, health and safety, team performance and effective client communications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and foster strong business relationships with our valued clients, ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction
  • Forecast project profitability by preparing and updating project budgets
  • Create construction schedules, and depending on project size, solicit input from the Site Superintendent for constructability,
  • Manage subcontractor costs to meet or exceed target profitability
  • Supervise tendering of subcontractor work and prepare summary for the client, including recommendations
  • Liaise with the Site Superintendent to ensure project construction meets established time and budgetary goals
  • Implement risk management actions to mitigate potential Health & Safety, Financial and legal liabilities
  • Chair and minute Site meetings with the Client, Consultants, key client third party vendors and sub trade PMs
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience working with a Commercial GC i\including at least one year as Project Manager
  • Diploma or degree in Architecture, Construction Management or related building discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build long lasting relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and peers
  • Commitment to recognizing and mitigating project risks
  • Entrepreneurial with an interest in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities
  • Tech savvy in Microsoft Office suite and project management software
