Project Manager- Integrating Automated tooling

Design Group Staffing Inc. is looking for a Project Manager

WHAT YOU WILL DO: In this role you will be responsible for developing conceptual design of Automation assemblies for their Automotive Clients across Canada & North and South America.

Mechanical Engineering:

  • Produce working drawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or product using Solid Works.
  • Analyze designs and systems for compliance to applicable standards (i.e. OSHA, CE or customer specific).
  • Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, hardness, etc
  • Perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to machine and tool designs

Client relationship management/ On Site Commissioning:

  • Liaise with vendors for technical information and specifications. Adhere to all ISO procedures pertaining to the job responsibilities.
  • Communicate progress on tasks to direct supervisor. Formalize and update drawing documentation. Create drawings of existing tooling through the use of precision measuring devices such as Vernier’s and micrometers
  • Review electrical requirements with respect to input and output devices with electrical designers.
  • Review machine operations and machine sequences with programmers.
  • Assist the fabricators, machinists, toolmakers and electricians in the debug and integration, resolving problems and completing systems.
  • Select appropriate components to purchase for mechanical assemblies and create requisitions with appropriate delivery dates.

Experience and Skills Needed:

  • Minimum of (10) years’ of thorough working knowledge of the automation assembly/testing/manufacturing process, methods, materials, machines and tools of the industry.
  •  Thorough working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Must possess strong communication and presentation skills for working directly with clients.
  • Must have transportation for site and willingness to travel client meetings
