Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for a Production Manager in the Brantford area.  Our client is a global company providing chemicals and expertise to operations around the world. They are committed to be our customers’ first choice by bringing sustainable value through improved product quality, better process and resource efficiency.  This candidate would be providing supervisory expertise to the team by oversee the Production and Maintenance departments to ensure safety standards and process efficiency are being adhered to throughout the facility. This role requires an experienced Manager that comes from a chemical manufacturing setting. Responsibilities:

  • Manage all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping activities of the area and meet production quality and quantity standards

  • Utilize fully integrated IT business system (SAP) in all processes

  • Plan, schedule, and direct production and maintenance work for efficient operations

  • Develop departmental goals and objectives that provide direction in order to maintain a competitive organization and meet overall business objectives

  • Ensure company quality standards in production are met

  • Direct activities associated with troubleshooting process 

  • Work to reduce costs through improving product quality and lowering operating and supply costs

  • Assist Plant Manager and Engineering in coordination of capital projects

Education:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field with a working knowledge of plant process flows and operations

    or

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in one or more plant functions: production, materials management, technical, engineering or maintenance

     
    Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation

  • Strong knowledge of basic chemical reactions utilized in the manufacturing process

  • Requires overall knowledge of chemical processing equipment, plant processes, environmental guidelines, and state, federal and local employment law

  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing principles, material compatibility, logistics and engineering

  • Must be able to respond appropriately and immediately to disaster/emergency situations

  • Intermediate level computer skills- MS Word, Excel, and Internet

  • Experience utilizing fully integrated business system, such as SAP or similar business system
