Job Description

Design Group is currently hiring a Customer Service Representative on a permanent basis for our client in Burlington. This person is responsible to provide customers with impeccable customer service and support regarding delivery, service, maintenance and repair of their heavy-duty equipment. The Customer Service Representative will leverage their technical knowledge and experience to provide customers with guidance for aftermarket functions and help to overall improve the performance and longevity of the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide equipment specific technical advice and guidance to customers, technicians and parts department
  • Manage the customer service cycle through effective communications, scheduled visits, and machine condition inspection reports
  • Meet and exceed goals for the aftermarket service functions to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide additional customer assistance in identifying parts and service solutions opportunities
  • Work closely with service and parts department to address all customers concerns
  • Ensure reliable equipment parts supply and inventory levels as well as the availability of shop and field service technicians to maintain and repair customer equipment

Competencies

  • Required College Diploma or University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical systems of heavy duty machinery (powertrains, pumps, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic drawings and schematics
  • Sales, parts, and service experience within the Heavy Equipment-Construction industries
  • Effective at building productive relationships with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, service reporting, time entry and metrics software knowledge
  • Valid driver's license
