Design Group Staffing, London office, has an opening for a Maintenance Manager for an automotive manufacturing plant in the London area. This is a permanent opportunity offering a salary of $90-100k with benefits and bonus structure.

Role & Responsibilities:

You will oversee the operations of the maintenance group within the facility to ensure a high level of service to manufacturing, engineering and other plant functions; provide leadership to maintenance team leaders and establish maintenance plans, define goals and key measurables for success:

•        Develop and implement ongoing and preventative maintenance programs; Ensure maintenance planning (CMS) is well-conceived, up to date, accurate and well-executed to ensure guidance of the maintenance work scheduling

•        Foster an environment of continuous improvement to enhance maintenance and manufacturing processes

•        Interface with stakeholders to ensure scheduled work is properly organized

•        Ensure facilities, tool & die, rebuilds meet or exceed expectations

•        Intervene to enhance / ensure actual vs planned execution

•        Achieve specific targets for PMs (critical vs non-critical)

•        Lead specific improvement projects with multi-disciplinary teams

•        Report regularly to plant director / operations manager on planned vs. actual execution

•        Ensure alignment between Maintenance and all other critical business processes

  •  Demonstrate Capex knowledge that will maintain physical assets such as property, industrial buildings, or equipment in compliance with Annual Operating Budget
  • Assist with hiring of maintenance personnel; conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians.


  • Technical Degree or Diploma Required with a Minimum of 8 years experience within an automotive maintenance environment; P. Eng highly desirable
  • Experience with Automated Control Systems PLCs and PCs, and Lean Manufacturing Principles, 5S deployment/sustainability, and WCM Strategy
  • At least 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Comprehensive, in depth knowledge of manufacturing, maintenance, TPM and related technologies
  • Experience in operational planning and budgeting
  • Proven leadership ability, initiative and self-discipline within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and computer skills
