Job Description

Design Group is currently recruiting for a Warehouse and Logistics Manager in the Burlington area. This role is with one of the largest manufacturers of construction machinery in the world. They are looking for an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join their team. The candidate for this role will be an integral member of the management team managing warehouse operations to achieve a high level of customer service through effective utilization of personnel and material resources while ensuring a safe work environment.

Below are some details on the requirements for this position:


  • Ensure warehouse operations are aligned with LCA policies, SOPs, spare parts and equipment stocking plans to maintain and find efficiencies as required
  • Receive, inspect and verify all shipment quantities, descriptions, and arrange delivery schedules and tenders
  • Determine resource needs and proactively plan to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse and logistics function
  • Implement procedural methods and links between the warehouse, shop, field service and remanufacturing departments to ensure departmental collaboration
  • Support employee development through orientation, coaching, training, and performance management


  • Post-Secondary vocational training or degree program in related field
  • Minimum 5 years of warehousing, inventory control and logistics experience including Kardex Remstar; Heavy Equipment industry knowledge a definite asset
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics processes and Supply Chain Management principles
  • Minimum 2 years in supervisory/lead hand roles within the distribution industry with demonstrated leadership and consistent team performance management practices
  • Solid understanding of budgets, cost control and financial levers and ability to create relevant business reports
  • Intermediary skills with MS Office, logistics software, parts catalogues and electronic warehousing /inventory, service reporting
  • Comprehensive understanding of complex service delivery issues, inventory systems, delivery times and costs
  • In-depth knowledge of the relevant Health & Safety laws and dangerous goods regulations
