Job Description

Design Group is seeking for a passionate and ambitious JR. PROJECT MANAGER for our client, a design, supply and installation/construction company of specialty, science-based equipment and furniture serving a broad institutional and commercial client base across Western Canada.

Your challenge: 

In this role, you will manage a significant volume of customer projects of varying budgets are charged with keeping all projects on schedule and on budget.  You will assist Project Manager with the implementation of project quality and safety programs, subcontract administration, and the identification and resolution of field technical issues, while meeting company standards for customer satisfaction, build quality and safety. 

Scope of the role will include:

•    Engage in planning and executing work procedures; schedule, manage and maintain projects and budgets, interpret specifications, coordinate various phases of construction to prevent delays, and review change orders to ensure additional work is completed

•    Work with employees, direct supervisors and subcontractors

•    Inspect, track and schedule work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules

•    Consult with employees, inspectors, and vendors to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods

•    Consult with project manager to provide technical advice and resolve issues

  • Start Date:  As soon as possible
  • Work Location:  Edmonton, AB. This role is based in the Edmonton office.  Travel will be minimal.

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will possess an Engineering Degree, Construction Engineering or Management Degree, Project Management Degree or equivalent work experience

•    Excellent organizational and communication skills

•    Ability to manage changing priorities within multiple phase projects.

•    Excellent computer skills will be required including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and a working knowledge of AutoCAD
