Junior Architecture & Design Representative - Tile


Architectural and Design Representative is accountable for interacting, promoting and influencing design firms and individual designers on the features and benefits of the company’s extensive flooring (tile) offering, as well as developing new and potential prospects in the design community and alike. This position applies a broad knowledge of the organization’s flooring products and marketing techniques to close sales.


The Architectural and Design Sales Representative is accountable for:

  1. Promoting and suggesting Our client’s products to existing designer firms and individual designers.  To achieve this, the position is responsible for interacting/building business relationships with established designer clients, and contacting existing accounts and designers to introduce new products as they are developed and launched.

  1. Researching and developing new prospects in the design community by sourcing new design firms.

  1. In collaboration with the Marketing department and under the direction of the President promote Our client’s product via a sales marketing program consisting of presentations, marketing materials (ie. A&D binder, product samples).

  1. Maintaining a presence in the Design & Commercial Real Estate Community through networking opportunities as BOMA, IFMA, ARIDO, IDC and other trade events.

  1. Educating designers on our client’s products through Lunch ‘n Learns, “Coffee Breaks”, Continuing Education Units (CEU’s), video introductions, brochures, product samples, etc. 

  1. Introducing all new products via showroom presentations or at the client’s office. Keeping abreast of trends and developments within the design community vis-à-vis trade shows, seminars, etc.

  1. Generating and maintaining accurate reports through the use of a CRM (e.g. monthly sales funnel, activity reports).

  1. This position will work collaboratively with his/her associates (A&D and dealer sales) and support each other as needed.


  • College Diploma or University Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Interior Design
  • 1+ years of experience with A&D Community;
  • Excellent knowledge of the flooring, specifically tile industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Well developed organizational skills and time management skills
  • Strong connections with the design community
  • Knowledge of Our client’s products is an asset
  • Knowledge of market competition is an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
