Talentcor Edmonton is currently sourcing a Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic with at least 5 years of supervisory or lead hand experience to join our client as a Shop Foreman !

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of lead hands, crew leads and personnel to meet the needs of terminal operations, within the scope of the maintenance facility
  • Meet with the lead hands regularly for updates on work that is completed, in progress and work that needs to be scheduled.
  • Provide support and assistance to shop personnel and drivers including responding to after-hours emergencies and attending drivers meetings
  • Working with the HR Department on all employee issues including: the hiring process, training and development, discipline and terminations
  • Manage apprentices including: working with the apprenticeship board, coordinating work and school requirements, keeping contract deadlines
  • Generate an Event Report for any vehicle damage including driver neglect
  • Enter on road and accident repairs
  • Manage CVIP program including paperwork and facility and inspection licenses

Qualifications:

  • Must possess Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Ticket
  • 7-10 years of directly related experience in a lead hand capacity
  • Experience with CVIP Programs and paperwork and inspection licenses
  • Intermediate Computer Software Skills Required
  • Company conducts full employment screening
