Inteqna has a client in Hay River Northwest Territories that requires a IT PROJECT PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Reporting to the Director of IT, this position oversees the Information & Operational Technologies Division’s portfolio of capital projects. They will manage the activity of several projects and other project managers through attention to processes surrounding scheduling, budgeting and forecasting, safety, and product. They ensure best practice project management standards are in place and followed by staff and consultants.


  • Oversees the implementation of capital projects within the asset management and capital plans.
  • Develops and promotes procedures, systems and policies used for tracking and reporting on projects.
  • Manages the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans.
  • Coordinates or develops feasibility studies or business cases for software and system products under consideration for purchase or development.
  • Prepares project charters, budgets, briefs and business cases used for approving addition of new information systems and information technology to the corporate capital plan.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science and Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline is required.
  • 5 to 8 years of technology project management experience is required.
  • Certification as a PMP is preferred.
  • Strong project management experience in leading a portfolio of IT projects with substantial exposure to project work structures, lifecycle models, etc.
  • Applied understanding of system development lifecycles with extensive knowledge of software design, production support and test methods.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Project for project planning and budgeting purposes.
  • Experience in developing project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ability to present and communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally.

Must undergo a successful criminal background check.
