Job Description

Talentcor Mississauga is looking for an IT Help Desk Associate, Level 1 for our client who specializes in the design and manufacture of next-generation of digital display technologies for businesses. As an IT Contractor, must be Incorporated.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide information technology support, such as server security, software updates, and hardware maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot errors and fix system issues via periodic testing and other methods
  • Perform in-person, on-site repairs of PC desktop hardware, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Perform in-person, on-site upgrades/replacement of PC desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Utilization of various software utilities for configuring, troubleshooting, and malware removal
  • Network maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Evaluate hardware and software to ensure that it meets company requirements
  • This is a one-year Incorporated contract position

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 to 24 months experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Certifications or licenses appropriate to industry are considered an asset such as A+
  • Physically able to move and assemble computers, monitors and other heavy equipment (free-standing kiosks, digital displays, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair at the component level
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness when researching hardware and software issues
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Driver’s license and auto insurances
  • Extended periods of sitting
  • Flexible hours, weekend work may be required
  • Working in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions
  • Travel to other offices within Greater Toronto Area

Skills:

  • University/College diploma or certificate in Computer Systems, IT, Networking or related field
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and to reprioritize tasks on a daily basis
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English.

Other Requirements:

  • Have a valid Ontario drivers’ License, proof of insurance, and own reliable transportation
  • Must sign Oath of Confidentiality

Location:

  • Mississauga, Ontario, but must be comfortable to travel to other offices within the GTA.
