Design Group Staffing - Vancouver is seeking a Civil / Municipal Engineer to join one of our Consulting clients in the Greater Vancouver Area. This is a fulltime permanent position.

Accountabilities:

The successful Civil / Municipal Engineer will join a team of professionals within a progressive and growing engineering firm providing professional engineering consulting services for the land development industry.  You will prepare designs for drafting, reviewing the drafting for completeness and presentation, and certifying the designs for approval and construction.  Managing the design and implementation of projects including coordinating deadlines with clients, city staff, other consultants, and internal staff.

Requirements:

• Relevant diploma, certification, or degree in civil engineering
• Must be registered with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design and certification of civil infrastructure (roadworks, water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and street lighting)
• Previous Civil design experience for commercial, institutional and residential buildings
• Experience managing staff and interfacing with local clients and contractors
• Field or project experience with an understanding of construction methodology, costs, and scheduling and how field changes will impact them
• Experienced using BC Building Code and Plumbing codes

The individual chosen for this role will be highly creative, hardworking, achievement focused, analytical and organized.  Strong attention to detail, planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.  All candidates must be able to work in Canada.
