Design Group Staffing is currently searching for a HEAVY EQUIPMENT FIELD SERVICE SUPERVISOR to work a permanent position in the Edmonton area

  • NO relocation, accommodation or travel provided for non-local applicants
  • Mon to Fri schedule
  • 8 hour days with occasional OT
  • You will have previous supervisory experience – can manage and coordinate 8 service technicians
  • You will be the first point of contact when clients are calling with an issue
  •  You will be the technical advisor if a service tech has a question/problem on the road and needs assistance.
  • MUST have a Heavy Duty Mechanic / Equipment trades background

Responsibilities

  • Daily planning and coordination of service technicians work assignments by creating and maintaining technicians' work schedules to meet customer requirements
  • Respond to customer calls, prepare quotes and define expectations and triage customer requests
  • Open, review and approve work orders for parts, time entry, parts requisitions and purchase orders
  • Create daily status updates of all open work, schedule updates and initiate invoicing process
  • Produce quotes for customers for repairs and maintenance
  • Reviews alarms from Satellite communication devise LIDAT and advice customers as needed.
  • Coordinate rental machine services and off rent inspections
  • Ensure effective, accurate reporting, data management and record keeping is in place
  • Serve as a customer contact for issues that require special attention or need to be escalated
  • Monitor workshop or field activities and report on trends in an effort to reduce future service calls
  • Maximize efforts to ensure appropriate levels of WIP and timely customer invoicing
  • Work in conjunction with the Warranty department to support customer warranty and claims issues
  • Maintain effective, accurate reporting, data management and record keeping
  • Support employee development through orientation, coaching, training, apprenticeships, and performance management

    Competencies

  • Minimum Grade 12 High School diploma, Post-secondary education/vocational training an asset
  • Heavy equipment technician license an asset
  • Must have administrative skills in heavy equipment industry, construction or distributor environment
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, time entry and invoicing accuracy
  • Must have strong organizational, and customer relations skills,
  • Technical knowledge of heavy equipment, cranes and construction equipment required
  • Sense of urgency and time management
  • Drive to promote and support health and safety in the workplace
  • Proactive, methodical, analytical, organized and detail oriented
  • Dynamic team leader with a positive attitude
  • Strong English verbal/written communications skills required, French language skills an asset
  • Valid provincial driver’s license
  • Willing to travel locally, nationally and internationally on occasion
