Supply Chain Management - Project Sourcing Group Lead

The Projects Sourcing and Procurement team, which is part of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team, provides end to end sourcing and procurement for Facility Engineering, Construction and Earthworks capital project teams with an estimated annual portfolio of $500 MM.

Reporting to the Manager, Projects Sourcing and Procurement this position is responsible for applying standard processes for sourcing, qualifying and managing suppliers used in Project execution throughout the end-to-end life cycle.

This position will drive the development and execution of Sourcing Strategies, contracting and procurement plans, and other commercial initiatives focused on reducing total cost of ownership in close collaboration with internal business stakeholders and suppliers. The position will also play a leadership role within the Projects sourcing team.

The ideal candidate possesses progressive experience with all aspects of Project sourcing including Engineering, Fabrication, Construction with execution of EPC Models, different contracting models, external sourcing (EPC Firms) and low-cost sourcing abroad. Experience in the energy sector is an asset but other qualifications could include strong project sourcing for other similar large process or manufacturing facilities (such as chemical plants or refineries) in market segments where supply-chain is a strategic value driver to the enterprise financial results and work as an equal partner with project capital execution teams. The candidate must demonstrate a strong track record, evidenced by quantitative achievements, in implementing project sourcing, contracting and contract administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • 10-15 years of progressive strategic sourcing and procurement experience within assigned portfolio
  • Academic Degree in Business Administration or equivalent. Alternatively an Engineering Degree combined with strong project sourcing experience or MBA would be considered
  • Progressive experience with all aspects of Project sourcing including Engineering, fabrication, construction with execution of EPC models, different contracting models,external sourcing (EPC firms) and low-cost sourcing abroad
  • Extensive sourcing for large project execution of energy industry or similar process or manufacturing facilities
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations. Previous responsibility for negotiations and supplier management through the development phase
  • Previous experience initiating and executing strategic sourcing processes
  • Previous experience leading teams and managing individual and team performance
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups
  • Sourcing expertise with planning, assessing and implementing outsourcing and multi-sourcing delivery models
  • Strategic thinker but focused on delivery
  • Strong analytical skills. Able to solve problems through honest analysis coupled with good judgment; initiative and decision making abilities
  • Excellent presentation skills. Able to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and with different levels of stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting his/her business and organization
