Design Group Vancouver have an immediate opportunity with growth potential for an experienced carpenter with a keen eye for detail. Our Client is a local design build firm with a portfolio consisting primarily of high end custom homes and new commercial builds. They are highly focused on adding another ambitious construction professional to their already great team and continuing to develop great people from within. Your challenge

As the chosen General Carpenter, you will play a key role on the construction team and be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to fill in the gaps between the work done by sub-trades. With the goal of total customer satisfaction, you will ensure that all work is completed in accordance with our client’s high standards. Your responsibilities will include; communicating professionally with trade partners, acting as a client advocate on site, miscellaneous carpentry and finishing work; ensuring materials are used appropriately and efficiently; ensuring quality of work; acting as a champion of safety culture; and collaborating with the construction team to ensure a safe and immaculately clean site. Regular carpentry tasks will include back framing, light finishing, installation of various products, digging & shoring, trims & railings etc. and various duties as assigned.

Your Background

The successful applicant for this general carpenter opportunity should have a minimum of three years’ experience in residential construction. Skill profile should include demonstrated abilities in managing trade relationships, general construction abilities. Journeyman carpenters will be given preference though individuals with strong general construction skills and trade background in carpentry, drywall or other finishing trade will also be considered. Interested candidates must possess their own tools. As travel to various work sites is required, a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are also required.
