Require senior Collections and Foreclosures Paralegal for newly created position.
Duties:
  • work independently in a highly time-sensitive practice area;
  • drafting correspondence and preparing complex legal documentation;
  • liaise closely with courts, lawyers and financial institutions;
  • update and monitor on-line systems and manage deadlines;
  • regular communication and contact with process servers, property managers, insurance companies, financial institutions, courts, opposing counsel, realtors and internal team members;
  • ability to communicate in person, on the phone or via e-mail/correspondence with clients, debtors, other professionals.   Able to conduct oneself with tact and professionalism at all levels;
  • accountable to ensure high quality service to clients via timely communications, accurate work product, understanding of deadlines and ability to meet same;
  • actively advance files with minimal instruction;
  • show pride in work product;
  • very self-directed;

Mandatory:

  • 5+ years experience in foreclosures, collections and/or real estate within the Province of Alberta;
  • lesser experience or other province experience may be considered with the ability to demonstrate knowledge or education equivalencies in the area of law;
  • exceptional English language, grammar and spelling skills;
  • critical thinking skills, ability to problems solve, professionalism;
  • exceptional attention to detail, well-organized, able to prioritize and demonstrate a strong work ethic;
  • exceptional Word and Outlook skills, competent with computers and able to adapt to software systems
  • ability to access and use on-line legal resources;
  • good file management, scheduling, billing, accounts receivable and database management.
