Finishing Superintendent, Multifamily High-rise

Do you enjoy working on large scale residential projects? Do you have an eye for detail mixed with the ability to push projects forward? Would you like to work for a well-established General Contractor that values the highest level in safe construction practices and building a quality product?  Design Group Construction and Development is searching for a highly motivated and efficient Finishing Superintendent with previous experience building high-rise multifamily condominiums to join the Vancouver division of a well-connected general contractor with a reputation for building beautiful residential and resort properties throughout Canada and the US.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Superintendent in executing various construction stages according to blue prints, building code and specifications and to the highest quality standards.
  • Creating and managing 2 week look ahead schedules
  • Creating and maintaining an efficient schedule allowing for typical construction related issues and complete project on time and budget with zero deficiencies.
  • Act as primary POC on site in the absence of Lead Superintendent.
  • Managing sub-trades, laborers and employees; and dealing with unexpected incidents and safety issues that arise on daily basis.
  • Offering strong leadership, support and motivation to your site and project team in addition to constructive feedback to consultants and other third parties.
  • Directing an providing effective and professional communication up and down the organizational chart
  • Maintaining strict safety standards on site according to company and BC policies in addition to encompassing a safe and tidy workplace

Requirements for the role:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ construction experience
  • Minimum of 5 years building high rise multifamily condominiums and have sound knowledge of the process involved.
  • Carpentry or trade certificate preferred
  • Strong site safety history
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and email.
  • Strong background in finishing stages of large scale multifamily projects
