Job Description

Our Client, A well respected Environmental Consulting Firm in Peterborough Ontario is currently searching for a full time Structural Bridge Manager to lead and grow the Structural (Bridge) Engineering group.

The chosen candidate will have interest and experience in bridge projects and heavy civil projects, as well as the desire to lead and mentor the team.

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Senior Management Team, collaborate with the President and other Department Managers to identify and develop long-term strategic priorities, and corporate policies and programs for the organization from a departmental perspective.
  • Provide direction, training, performance management, professional development and mentorship to staff within the department.
  • Act as a primary point of contact with clients
  • Engage in business development initiatives to secure new clients and promote the reputation of the firm.
  • Oversee department budgets and financial management, ensuring that the department meets corporate financial objectives.
  • Oversee health and safety requirements of departmental personnel, ensuring a safe workplace culture within the department.
  • Ensure that timelines are met for all project key deliverables.
  • Lead and implement a continuous improvement process for the Department to ensure quality products and optimal service delivery to clients.
  • Provide input on RFP and RFQ submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer of Ontario (P.Eng.)
  • 10 years’ experience in bridge or structural engineering.
  • 5 years of people management and project management experience in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong competency is structural analysis and design.
  • RAQS approval in Bridge Engineering categories.
  • Extensive experience with proposal submissions, project management and contract administration and proven track record winning proposals.
  • Solid knowledge of principles and practices of financial accounting, budget development, cost control and invoicing.
  • Strong communication skills including mediation and negotiation
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and effective time management capabilities to meet timelines.
