Job Description

Position Summary:

Based in Head Office, the Contracts Manager will work closely with the pre-construction team and will report to Executive Director of pre-construction and Design.

Key Responsibilities:

Contracts Manager

  • For assigned projects working in collaboration with the pre-construction team, to: assist the owner and the consultant as requested and as applicable throughout each phase of the project from: Schematic Design, the Design Development Phase and the Construction Document Phase.
  • Attend regular meetings with the owner and the consultant, providing advice with respect to construction ability and general construction market conditions.
  • Assist the pre-construction team to prepare & present estimates and budgets during pre-construction to meet clients vision.
  • Assist in providing liaison and coordination among government authorities, utility companies, and other authorities having jurisdiction over the Place of the Work as appropriate;
  • Assisting client in RFP preparation for selection of consultants.
  • Assist bidding processes including take off, RFQ & RFP responses, estimation, subcontractor quote queries, Bid presentation, etc.
  • Participate in business development opportunities. Assist development of Quality and Project Management tools.
  • Background in design, construction & delivery process including design management experience with a main contractor on projects.
  • Little requirement to travel on-site to project locations with minimal possibility of exposure to hazardous materials.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent recognized disciplines include; Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar building related studies. Minimum experience approximately 5 years in construction, including knowledge of construction methodology, process and sequence
