Job Description

Do you have construction experience leading and motivating teams, scheduling work according to scope of plans, are not afraid to lead by example and jump in with the team where required in field? Are you open to long hours during peak times with more flex during downtimes? Open to a shifting schedule that could include overnights, stretching a shift to ensure the work is done on time and on budget as you manage team hours and work? We are looking for a true construction operations professional to join a growing business in a full time permanent capacity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling crews and man power to efficiently complete work.
  • Managing, mentoring and motivating crews.
  • Pushing and encouraging crews to become more productive and efficient.
  • Ensuring job site production is being done efficiently.
  • Dealing with day to day production issues.
  • Proactively scheduling crews around weather.
  • Taking calls to answer crew questions as needed.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Working a minimum work week of 55 hours during peak seasonal demand and as required.
  • Working weekends and over-night as required.
  • Ensuring work is being done to a high quality that meets or exceeds client’s expectations.
  • Organizing and leading professional site meetings with clients to determine work requirements and job specifications.
  • Always being mindful of opportunities to expand our scope of work or obtain additional work on job sites. (pushing for extras)
  • Documenting extra work done and change order requests.
  • Developing business and promoting Company goodwill.
  • Ordering material and spare parts as required and more importantly, anticipating when the material and parts may be required to avoid delays or down-time.
  • Assuming responsibility and care of equipment by managing inventory, facilitating maintenance and/or repairs and complying with all government regulations.
  • Managing, logging and proactively scheduling equipment maintenance.
  • Keeping warehouse and shop facilities, clean, safe, organized and orderly.
  • Promoting and enforcing employee safety.
  • Other day to day activities related to the operation of the business.
