Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Sales Engineer, Capital Equipment for our client in the Niagara region to promote sales of heavy industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated technical aptitude in a B2B selling environment in heavy industry, equipment sales, or a related field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


•         To develop proposals and close equipment sales. Present and explains quotations to customers and follows up with additional as required to complete the sale. Keeps updated on all customer communications with company personnel.


•         Work directly with Estimators and applications engineers. Works with the Manager, Proposals Engineering to ensure that all aspects of the quotation are correct and as per customer specifications.


•         Ensures that the company has updated information on current, past and potential customers.


•         Attends product shows, fairs and customer presentations.  


•         Deals with customer complaints and initiates corrective action.


•         Will negotiate additions, changes and amendment in customer contracts as well as handling final commercial negotiations on repair and service issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:


•         Education: College or University diploma and APEO designation.


•         Knowledge of Estimating and sales policies and practices


•         Experience in a capital equipment environment or Thermal Processing Industry or Automation, Material Handling or Packaging Industry


•         Knowledgeable in sales and estimating with previous experience in sales proposal engineering A though understanding of blueprint reading.  


•         Advanced knowledge of computer software programs.


•         Application of new products, processes and materials.


•         Able to assess unit production levels and prepare budget and cost reports. Able to put on and explain complex equipment presentation.


•         Willingness to travel within North America 30% of the time, and a chance of international travel
