Job Description

Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for a Bridge Engineer.  Our client, a strong Canadian consulting firm who places their expertise into Canadian based projects is looking to add a Bridge Engineer to their team.  As a Bridge Engineer, you will work within the Bridge Group to carry out detailed technical work and lead the younger engineers and technologists while managing projects within the defined budget and quality requirements. 

Accountabilities:

The Bridge Engineer responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparing proposals, bids and contract documentation;
  • Leading the structural team in analysis, design, evaluation and preparation of calculations and drawings;
  • Supporting the preparation of proposals and assisting with marketing and business development;
  • Monitoring, controlling and reporting project status internally and externally;
  • Providing guidance, including mentoring and instruction to junior and intermediate staff.

Requirements:

The Bridge Engineer must have:

  • An Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university;
  • Be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGBC
  • Previous experience in design, rehabilitation, construction of bridges and an understanding of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in bridge engineering delivering projects to a variety of clients.
