Job Description

Our client, a global leader in the electronics/contract manufacturing industry is looking for an Automation Solutions Architect to join their manufacturing team in Monterrey, Mexico.  Reporting to the Director of Automation, your primary responsibility will be to lead the development of automated manufacturing solutions.  Key responsibilities include:

  1. Develop automated solutions in support of replacing manual operations, new product introductions and new customer start-up accounts.
  2. Work cross-functionally, influencing other teams such as; Site Engineering, Operations and Quality to resolve issues.
  3. Design tests, evaluate results, troubleshoot problems, diagnose and recommend solutions to improve automated manufacturing processes.
  4. Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships to further hardware automation programs.
  5. Interface and effectively communicate with internal and customer teams to ensure all planned objectives and delivery schedules are met.
  6. Manage several concurrent projects amongst changing priorities with stringent deadlines.


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 7+ years of relevant work experience, specifically having experience with Hardware Automation/Robotics equipment within a manufacturing organization.
  3. In-depth knowledge and understanding of design and manufacturing processes for automated assembly of products and subassemblies.
  4. In-depth knowledge of industry engineering and manufacturing standards related to equipment design, cost estimating, installation, commissioning and management.
  5. In-depth knowledge of materials and components used in the production of a wide variety of products and subassemblies.
  6. Strong knowledge of automated equipment pricing and the ability to negotiate business terms and agreements.
  7. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and techniques.
  8. Excellent project management skills.
  9. Strong financial acumen with the ability to produce, present and negotiate business cases.
  10. Strong customer relationship building, negotiating and problem resolutions skills.
  11. Excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.
  12. Willing and able to travel (10% maximum).
