Account Manager – Manufacturing Trades

Design Group Oakville is expanding and currently seeking an experienced Account Manager to run a full-cycle trades desks in our Manufacturing team. In support of the continued growth of these practices, you will work closely with existing personnel and in-particular concentrate your efforts in business development activities.


•         Source and develop new clients within the Manufacturing sector for technical trades business.

•         Build and nurture existing client and candidate relationships with the goal of becoming their staffing company of choice.

•         Establish an in-depth understanding of our Clients’ business and staffing needs and articulate features and benefits to candidates.

•         Develop and execute account management strategies to meet and/or exceed performance targets.

•         Source, select, qualify and present suitable candidates to clients for various specific requirements.

•         Conduct thorough behavioral based interviews to evaluate candidate suitability and continuously build a solid database of top industry talent.

•         Prepare professional job descriptions/postings based on client requirements and corporate guidelines.

•         Produce professional and formal candidate presentations suitable for client submissions.

•         Gather industry/market intelligence and business leads from candidates.

•         Negotiate business arrangements with clients in accordance with Design Group standards.

•         Negotiate salary and/or pay rates and compensation packages with candidates.

•         Perform professional and confidential candidate reference checks.

•         Represent Design Group at client meetings, industry functions and job fairs as required.


•         At 2 years experience within the staffing industry whether it be business development or recruiting.

•         Solid track record of identifying, attracting and assessing top talent.

•         Strong business savvy and commitment to your work with a reputation for creating an extraordinary candidate and client experience.

•         Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

•         Thrive on networking with people and able to forge trusting, long standing relationships.

•         Strong sales and customer service focus.

•         Tenacious, think quickly on your feet, results-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines.

•         Possess a competitive nature and desire to win.

•         Strong computer skills (MS Office and CRM).

•         Post secondary education.

•         Ideally have experience in Engineering, Manufacturing or Construction with a trades recruitment background preferred.
